Todd
Hicks brings a wealth of soccer experience and knowledge to the
Academy both as a player and
coach. Todd began his soccer career very much like
your own son or daughter in his hometown boys and girls
club. His skill level and passion for the game accelerated him
through the ranks of NCSL Division I youth soccer to NCAA Division I
college soccer at Towson University to an indoor and outdoor
professional career with the NPSL Baltimore Blast and Baltimore Spirit
and the USISL Baltimore Bays and Delaware Wizards.
As
you can see below, his soccer resume is second to none. Even with
all of his personal and professional accomplishments he has never
forgotten his roots. He has continued to be actively involved with
children not only in the youth soccer programs in the area,
but as serving as a full time Physical Education teacher
in Carroll County, MD.
Todd's
philosophy is best illustrated by a quote from a local newspaper
after a Baltimore Blast game. "The big thing about this is
the kids. You can see it in their eyes that they are looking up to
you. You want to give back to the community and you can do
that." Todd Hicks

2002 Baltimore Blast Goalkeeper Draft Pick
2004
- Present - Co-Head Coach, HBFC U-17 Boys
Andy
Hicks was drafted by the Baltimore Blast as a goalkeeper in 2002. He chose to pursue a
teaching career instead of professional soccer. But he remains an
active player and coach. In addition to being a gifted keeper,
Andy is also an excellent field player. Campers will likely have
the chance to see Andy and his brother Todd "go at it" against
each other one-on-one, as they've been doing for
years.
Hicks
was a 4-year goalkeeper at Towson University. During his
career he broke a 25 year record with the most shutouts in a season.
Andy was
named defensive player of the year as well as the 2002 recipient of the
“Jack Hart Unsung Hero” award for all Towson University
athletics. In addition, he was the first soccer player in T.U.
history to earn the coveted “Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week”.
during his senior year at Towson. Andy was ranked nationally in the top 10 of
the NCAA for goalkeeping.
During
his youth years, Hicks was a 5-year member of the Maryland Olympic Development
Program as well as a 2-year member of the Region 1 ODP team.
Other
College and Professional Coaches
will be utilized as appropriate on a camp by camp, day by day basis.
